Food Makes it Better

One of my favorite things about being home more is baking, especially with Naomi and Micah. Yes, I'm the mom that let them sit on the counter while we made chocolate chip cookies. But it is a nice thing to do on an afternoon when we're all feeling a bit antsy - productivity and sugar in one.

The other day Naomi threw the Hugest Tantrum in the History of Tantrum Throwing. Or, at least, her tantrum throwing. It wasn't pretty, and I was paying for keeping her up late the night before. But you know what made it all better (besides an early rest time)? This plate of food: a cheese sandwich sun and frozen blueberry clouds.

Remember this picture (Its my favorite)? It was taken at the hospital - Micah was a couple of days old...Here they are today... No wonder the boy sleeps so well - he's been so busy expanding his beautiful head.

Monday and Fish Soup

On a Monday, its nice to record the really sweet moments of the day - and many times that happens at the very beginning... (It helps to remember these at 4 o'clock when everyone, including me, feels fussy and whiny!)Those moments also happen at the end of the day, sometimes at dinner. Its a nice thing to have dinner together......and this night, Micah joined us at the table!

Tonight's dinner was Portuguese Fish Stew. Its because I'm still addicted to this cookbook, and wanted to try the Portuguese Corn Bread and needed something to eat with it. And, I'm also in love with mussels, so it was a fun splurge!

The Boy in Action

Here's a little bit of Micah in Action. For some reason he thinks it is hilarious when I say, "Ba ba ba ba ba ba" - the things I do to get him to laugh for you! And then, I got a little bit of the rolling action.

Out and About and Around

I wanted to add some random pictures from the week/day...Last Friday, Naomi and Micah and I made a spontaneous lunch stop for pizza. It was so fun to go to lunch with my kiddos - Naomi and I split a pizza, and Micah slept for most of it. While I am mastering being out with two, it was a first for lunch at a restaurant with them on my own. It felt like a mother's day treat for the three of us. We will do it again!

Naomi spent some good time in the tent today...and nice distraction for an at-home day! On our walk today - Naomi wanted to sling her baby too! You can see her baby "Baga" peeking out of her sling. She was so cute walking around the neighborhood with her baby, while I carried Micah.

Finally, the end of the day...both in their pjs. But don't confuse Naomi's wet hair with a bath - its from the sprinkler hose outside! She loves her brother, and Micah loves his sister.
