Sometime earlier this summer (I can't remember what month it was - the summer is running together), but early on, when it was already in the 100s in Austin, Mark and I went out to Ft Davis, to the Davis Mountains State Park. We stopped at Balmorrhea State Park and went swimming, and then stayed at the Indian Lodge in the state park. We hiked, drove around, and went to Marfa. The high point? The high was 91. Oh, and a week away all together that we were feeling pretty needy for.

did you see my blog about my trip to ft davis this summer? i didn't know there were mountains in texas like this! we stayed in a bed and breakfast in ft davis - it was $85 including breakfast - the veranda inn. google it - it allows children and even has a cottage if a family wants to have more privacy. i checked out the indian lodge and want to stay there next time. i went with a friend but want to take bruce back - SOON!!! wish i could talk c and j into thanksgiving there!!!
