To Infinity...And Beyond!

Naomi has this new thing where she holds her arm out in front of her, pointing towards somewhere she wants to go, or towards a person she wants to go to. Sort of like the picture here. We call it her "To infinity and beyond" pose.

Bedtime

Pre-bedtime play. Last night, Naomi pulled up to the couch, let go and stood not holding on - then squatted, stood, squatted, and stood up - no hands! Chasing Maya (who immediately got up and ran away from Naomi after this picture. Poor Naomi, all she wants to do is love the cats)
Goodnight Bird!
And a bedtime story.

Naomi's Moving Co.

Naomi pushed her chair around the dining room today, and almost had it in our room! So, if you need something moved she would be glad to help!

Naomi likes books...and plants...and people

There is always something going on with Naomi, and therefore us. One of Naomi's new interests is her bookshelf. We put her books on the second shelf of the big bookshelf, which she can reach if standing next to it. She likes to pull every book off her shelf into a big pile, and then sit in the pile and flip through them! Or chew, whichever she is in the mood for.
We all also like being outside, so most evenings we inspect the yard - check out the irises blooming, see how much more the green beans have grown, look at the grass we planted last fall (and by "we" I mean Mark). The blackberries and grapes are growing, and the fig tree Kristin and Ian gave Naomi is leafing out.

Naomi has also discovered waving and reaching for people. She was doing it all weekend with her grandparents - someone would be holding her, and then she would reach to go to the next person. It is a fun game! And she gives very nice hugs. More and more she is becoming herself, and Mark and I soak in every minute. Even the nights when she wakes up a couple of times, and I am so tired and wish we could all be asleep, I remember this doesn't last forever, and all of it is beautiful time. Well, okay, sometimes it takes me a minute of hiding under the covers, and then I remember.

It was a Family Weekend

Easter Weekend was really great, and very busy. We had a family reunion up at Inks Lake, and then Naomi's Dedication at church Sunday. And since Mark's parents and Kristen's parents were all in town for it, we had Easter Dinner at our house. The first thing about camping was that it was cold - note the hats Naomi and I are both wearing? Yup, its April in Texas and it sleeted on us, or on our cabin. But we were all cozy with 9 of us in the cabin - 6 adults, our 6-year-old niece, and two babies.

This is Naomi with her aunt Christa and cousin Abby.

Here's Naomi with all four grandparents!

And there was a lot of playtime.

Here's Naomi!

Really, what more is there to say?

I love mama, I love dada

Naomi is full of showing her love - both in traditional and creative ways. She stared longingly out the back door while Mark mowed the lawn - waving at him from across the yard! And we've decided that climbing over you is a sign of love.

Grandma!

Naomi's Colorado grandparents visited last weekend. Naomi spent a couple of days with her grandmother while we were at work. From what I heard, they had a blast!

Grandma brought Kristen's first-birthday dress - so they played dressup.
