Naomi's two best friends, Layla and Ellaiden, and their families came with. (We feel pretty lucky that they are our friends too.) We stopped for barbecue in Lockhart, and then set up camp. It was great weather, and Palmetto State Park was a great car camping spot with kids: short trails for hiking, a lake with paddle boats, and a playground across the street from our campsite.
Here are the girls - Naomi, Soren, Ellaiden and Layla -- roasting hot dogs and riding the paddleboat.
It was also, wierdly enough, caterpillar season, and caterpillars were everywhere! We finally got used to them, maybe. But I won't miss them crawling on my shoes!

This looks so idyllic, Kristen. Makes me dream about a camping trip in Texas...maybe next Spring! But its good to see that you can bring a 4 month old along happily.
